Dr. Ralph Zipper and Dr. James Raders are board certified Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgeons who have collectively trained thousands of fellow surgeons. All of our team members are board certified and hand picked for their outstanding success rates. Each year Zipper Urogynecology performs hundreds of surgeries for patients who have had failed surgeries performed elsewhere.


Ralph Zipper, M.D., FACOG, FPMRS
Executive Director


Dr. Zipper, board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, is one of the nation's most recognized thought leaders and Post-Doctoral Instructors. He has personally trained over 1,000 surgeons in his techniques. Dr. Zipper has been the focus of numerous Urogynecology DVDs and continues to be one of the most prominent innovators in his field. He is the inventor of some of the newest and most promising techniques and devices for the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Dr. Zipper is the inventor of Thermal Colporrhapy™, a no-mesh prolapse surgery, the world’s only laser Incisionless Vaginal Rejuvenation® procedure, Painless Laser Therapy® for the treatment of overactive bladder and pain with intercourse, and the lasers used for these procedures. Dr. Zipper holds multiple patents for both methods and devices used for Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Zipper has become an established world leader in the treatment of vaginal mesh complications and continues to refine both robotic and laser based treatments.

Dr. Zipper attended the University of Connecticut and remains a devout Husky fan. He completed his graduate training at New York City's Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His post-doctoral work and Urogynecology training was completed at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital. He moved to Melbourne in 1998 where he started what is now recognized as one of the nation's premier Urogynecology treatment centers, Zipper Urogynecology.


James Raders, M.D., FACOG, FPMRS
Fellowship-Trained Urogynecologist


Dr. Raders is fellowship-trained and board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He has over than 30 years of urogynecology experience. This makes Dr. Raders the most experienced Urogynecologist in Florida. While in Minnesota, he was voted the "Best Physician for Women" in 2007 and 2008. He has conducted extensive research in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.

Dr. Raders “is my greatest discovery in Urogynecology”, says Dr. Zipper. “Finding an amazing, caring, skilled female pelvic surgeon is very difficult. Dr. Raders is one of the finest urogynecologists in the country”, says Dr. Zipper. When asked for a one sentence summarizing his feelings about Dr. Raders, Dr. Zipper replied “He takes care of my mom”.

Dr. Raders is board-certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He currently serves as a reviewer for the International Urogynecology Journal. He is an active member of the International Urogynecology Society, the American Urogynecology Society and the American Congress of Obstetricians & Gynecologists.

Dr. Raders attended the University of Iowa where he earned his undergraduate and medical degrees. His post doctoral work and Urogynecology training was completed at the University of Florida School of Medicine. He underwent fellowship training in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at the highly respected Cleveland Clinic and the Institute for Female Pelvic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He moved to Melbourne in 2011 to join what is now recognized as one of the nation's premier Urogynecology treatment centers, Zipper Urogynecology.

For more than 20 years, he served as an adjunct professor and clinical professor with the University of Minnesota.


Sherri Lorraine, DPT, PhD
Women's Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist

Dr. Sherri Lorraine, Central Florida's only dual doctorate female-only pelvic floor physical therapist, serves as director of pelvic health and physical therapy at Zipper Urogynecology. For more than a decade, Dr. Lorraine has provided rehabilitative treatments to help patients heal and improve functionality. Dr. Lorraine is a board-certified women's health specialist and holds a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.

Dr. Lorraine provides pelvic floor physical therapy to treat pelvic pain, mild pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, painful intercourse, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and other conditions, which women struggle to discuss. She works closely with Dr. Zipper and Dr. Raders to diagnose and treat these problems and also to protect urogynecological repairs with post-surgical physical therapy.

She graduated with a bachelor's degree in health sciences from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Lorraine earned both her masters and doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from University of St. Augustine in Florida. Dr. Lorraine completed internships at Shriners Hospital in Los Angeles and Health South Sports Medicine and Rehab in Los Angeles.

Dr. Lorraine is a regularly requested speaker on pelvic floor physical therapy. She has conducted numerous studies following the effectiveness of physical therapy for recovery. She has volunteered with the Special Olympics, United Way and Silvers Spurs Riding Club helping physically and mentally challenged children ride horses.
