Labiaplasty
Laser Labial Rejuvenation
For some women, having enlarged labia minora (inner genital lips) can be functionally or emotionally bothersome. Age, childbirth, hormones, and sexual intercourse can cause enlarged labia, or it can occur naturally.
Cosmetic surgery has grown in popularity throughout the world; however, women remain hesitant to discuss their concerns about enlarged or irregular labia or loss of sexual satisfaction. Many women do not even realize there are surgical techniques to solve their problems. Labiaplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure that offers women a solution.
Labiaplasty surgically reshapes or reduces the labia. Dr. Zipper has pioneered a patent pending method of labiaplasty. This procedure, known as GyneShape Diamond Labiaplasty, cosmetically corrects the labia during one surgical visit.
Diamond Laser Labiaplasty (Laser Labial Rejuvenation) is a surgical procedure that utilizes a laser as the primary tool to decrease the size or modify the shape of the labia. Some surgeons and websites use the term Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation to describe both the vaginal and labial rejuvenation procedures. We find this incorrect and confusing. Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation should be used only to describe Vaginal and not Labial Rejuvenation procedures. This procedure addresses concerns with both the labia minora and labia majora including improving their appearance and correcting shape or irregularities.
These very unique methods using the GyneShape lasers are minimally invasive. Unlike rejuvenation techniques offered by non-specialists that remove and destroy tissue, Dr. Zipper's surgical methods focus on the preservation and enhancement of the vaginal nerves and tissues.
There are various reasons why women would choose to undergo labiaplasty. The more common include:
- Reducing pain during intercourse.
- Gaining a boost in self-esteem.
- Feeling more confident.
- Reducing emotional and physical discomfort from having enlarged labia.
- Enhancing sexual pleasure.
