Dysaethetica Vulva & Labiaplasty
Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

Each year almost one in ten women will undergo a cosmetic surgery. They may have a nose job, breast implants, facial surgery, laser surgery, or liposuction. They are all doing this to improve their self-image. Over the last decade an increasing number of women have sought and undergone cosmetic surgery for their vulva (the labia and areas surrounding the vaginal opening). Of all cosmetic surgeries, there is probably none that has such a profound and positive impact on the life of a woman. When a woman is unhappy with the appearance of her external genitalia it can have a very negative effect on her sexual life.

Following cosmetic surgery to the labia it is not uncommon for women to describe tremendous improvements in their sex lives including more frequent and better orgasms. How could that be? The answer lies between our ears, our brain. When a woman is self-conscious about her labia, it is a distraction from a beautiful passionate experience. When a woman is happy with her appearance, the distraction is removed. She is free to be immersed in partnership.

Dr. Zipper Explains Dysaethetica Vulva

Do I Have Dysaethetica Vulva?

Do you turn the lights off before sex? Are you unwilling to receive oral sex? Are you embarrassed or self-conscious while receiving oral sex? Do you worry that your partner may find your vulva unattractive? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you likely have Dysaethetica Vulva.

Our Thoughts

Most of us have noticed that things just seem better when our sexual lives are healthy. We smile more, argue less, and even become more physically fit and active. A healthy sex life creates an improved connection and bond with your partner and the resultant positive effects on your life and the life of your family is well established in the medical and scientific literature. Some ingredients to the creation or restoration of a healthy sex life are complicated. Stresses at work and financial difficulties can take a long time to reduce. If you are suffering from Dysaethetica Vulva (self-conscious about your labia or surrounding areas) or have VRS, there is a quick and simple solution. Dr. Zipper and his team have pioneered a series of improvements on traditional Labiaplasty and other cosmetic vulvar surgeries. We never get tired of hearing about how much these surgeries have improved the lives of our patients.

Although Dr. Zipper has trained over 1000 physicians in pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, he has trained very few in cosmetic gynecology. He explains that he “can not teach the level of artistic vision and delicacy needed to create an improved and natural appearing vulva.” We hence caution you to be extremely careful when choosing a surgeon for cosmetic gynecology. Review their gallery of before and after photos. Make sure you ask if these photos are of their patients. Many gynecologists performing cosmetic gyn surgery have received their training in a one-day course and are displaying pictures given to them as marketing materials. If something seems wrong, it probably is. Always consider a second opinion.

Our Treatments

Diamond Labiaplasty

This procedure is used to treat the labia minor and or labia majora. Named for the first iteration of Dr. Zipper’s method that utilized a laser pushed through a diamond, Dr. Zipper now performs this labial rejuvenation surgery with plasma energy. Plasma is often referred to as the fourth state of matter. This energy exists in a form of ionized gas that is used to decrease the size and reshape the labia. Because the plasma exerts its effects at a much lower temperature than traditional electrosurgery and lasers, injury to surrounding tissue is decreased. This results in decreased scarring, scarring that is so minimal that it often is undetectable.

This is an outpatient procedure that you may have performed under local or general anesthesia. We utilize proprietary postoperative compression for the first 36 hours. After this we ask that you wear loose fitting clothing for several weeks. You can expect to have moderate tenderness for the first few days. Although we will send you home with analgesic medication, most patients only use this for one day. You may drive your car the day following your procedure and will return to most activities of daily living within 48 hours. Strenuous activity, brisk aerobic activity, and sexual activity may be resumed in four to six weeks.

Diamond Prepupexy and Vulvapexy (“Lift” Procedures)

This is a procedure developed by Dr. Zipper to elevate the sagging clitoris and labia. Aging and childbirth can lead to sagging of the external genitalia. The clitoris may actually move further away from your pubic bone. This movement can effect your ability to enjoy clitoral stimulation during intercourse. Addtionally, there is often a drooping of the labia. The labia may begin to sag and look a bit like jowels. Named for the first iteration of Dr. Zipper’s vulvar lifiting procedure that utilized a laser pushed through a diamond, Dr. Zipper now performs this surgery with plasma energy. Plasma is often referred to as the fourth state of matter. This energy exists in a form of ionized gas that is used to decrease the size and reshape the labia. Because the plasma exerts is effects at a much lower temperature than traditional electrosurgery and lasers, injury to surrounding tissue is decreased.
